History

R.L. Guimont Company was founded in Indianapolis, Indiana in the year 1946 by R.L. Guimont. Established on the foundation of "Service You Can Count On", R.L. Guimont Company grew through the years with offices in Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky. The business was led in the early days by R.L.; his vision and commitment were the cornerstones of the company. The company's original manufacturing line was Size Control Company, founded in 1941. R.L. Guimont Company forged a special relationship with Size Control Company and continues to proudly represent the Size Control Company product line.

With the growth came the joining of his son Forest Guimont with the company. An Army Veteran and graduate of Northwestern University's School of Engineering, Forest and R.L. continued the growth and service to their customers until 1968, when tragically Forest's life was taken in an aircraft accident.

Under the leadership of R.L., the company developed as a major Manufacturer's Representative for the world's leaders in the manufacturing of inspection gaging, tooling and fixturing components. In 1973 Rick Guimont joined his father at R.L. Guimont Company. Rick quickly demonstrated leadership skills that led to his taking responsibility for Sales, Service, and Engineering.

The year of 1978 brought another Guimont to the company, Rod Guimont. Rod has since grown to take responsibility for inside operations including shipping, receiving, inventory, accounting, and customer service.

1996 brought another change at R.L. Guimont Company as Roberta, R.L.'s wife, retired and the company consolidated offices to the current Fishers and Ft. Wayne, Indiana facilities. Ft. Wayne maintains inventory, sales, shipping, and engineering services, and Fishers handles inventory, sales, training, engineering, shipping, and state-of-the-art demonstration and inspection capabilities.

The third generation of Guimonts joined the company in 1998 with the addition of Jon Guimont, a graduate of Purdue University. Since joining the company, Jon has maintained a focus on continual improvement in the application engineering and quality control and inspection methodologies. Jon is responsible for onsite service, calibration and certification of vision measurement systems and optical comparator operations. Our Fishers demonstration and inspection office is an accredited ISO/IEC 17025 facility by A2LA.

In 2005 Richard L. Guimont Jr. was named the President. On March 11, 2005 Richard Lefebvre Guimont, 96, passed away at his residence. R.L. Guimont Company lives on in his image, providing quality "Service You Can Count On" in the past, present and future.
